Stephen Tobolowsky Uncut Interview - Acting Advice, Insider Access, and More!
You know his face. You should know his name. An actor and filmmaker who has entertained the masses for over forty years with countless film and TV credits -- Spaceballs, Seinfeld, Groundhog Day, Calendar Girl, Memento, Deadwood, Glee, Californication, Silicon Valley, The Mindy Project, The Goldbergs (how many more can we say?!). We, of course, are talking about the very talented, funny, friendly, and genuine Stephen Tobolowsky!
We originally met Stephen for our Groundhog Day (1993) On Location episode to discuss the iconic time-warp film starring Bill Murray. Stephen plays the legendary (and pesky) insurance salesman Ned Ryerson -- Needlenose Ned! Ned the Head! Case Western High! But also during our visit with him at his home in the Los Angeles-area, Stephen bestowed invaluable pieces of advice, both for life and many young actors and filmmakers out in the world.
In this uncut, raw interview, Beyond the Backlot and Stephen Tobolowsky dive into life's little mysteries of failing up, making it in Hollywood, and discussing some of his most famous characters to grace the screen and tube. For a career that has spanned since the late 70s, Stephen brings experience, talent, thoughtfulness, humor, and heart to everything he does. His tips and advice are second to none. Oh, and he's a heck of a storyteller! This is an interview you don't want to miss!
Thanks for watching!

Ya know…say what you want about John Kreese. But he actually does care about his students and teaching Karate. He says “You lose concentration in a fight and you’re dead meat.” Anybody honestly thinks he lying or exaggerating when he says that? He’s saying that because it’s the truth. A lot of people I notice will tend to criticize the Cobra Kai way or Sensei Kreese’s philosophy, but in the end, John Kreese takes all of this very seriously. Just wanted to put that out there.

Love the karate kid movies and the series as well ...and since the series has brought back memories from the eighties when I was at high school ...I have had a thought about how John Kreese was the way he was ...when the movies came out we were led to believe that cobra kai was the bad guys.. but..with the series I have realised that kreese being a vietnam veteran and feeling that America wasn't allowed to win the war ...he tried to bring the values he learned in the military back to his dojo and pushed his students to be victorious always ...so my view is ...he was a proud man and loved his country ...anyway I'm from scotland ...God bless the American armed forces

The owners back in 1990 were apparently really cool about filming, so we know its a newer owner being a snotty little bitch. Can't complain about fans visiting if you bought it KNOWING its history. Either have a Coke and a smile and STFU about it or sell it to a fan who will cherish it and preserve its historical value, quit being Karen's.
